Mrs. Helms graduated from Georgia Southern University (GSU) in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She began her teaching career in the 2006-2007 school year by teaching fourth grade. She obtained a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in 2012 from GSU. Mrs. Helms continued in her education endeavor by completing her Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology in 2014 from GSU. She feels fortunate that she has taught primary grades for most of her career. Mrs. Helms feels very blessed to be teaching at Perdue Primary. She is excited to watch her little pandas grow this year!

Mrs. Helms and her husband, David, have a daughter, Avery Grace, as well as two cats, Rascal and Dundie. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, shopping, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
